print inspiration

b&b italia flat c series.
love the 2d sculpture on the wall, that looks 3d when viewing from the front.

realizing i don't post blogs all that often (i can't produce new work everyday!), i have decided to post images of things i find interesting/catch my attention (fashion, furniture, etc). just have to think of how to label/organize this.

custom storage units

recently had some storage units i designed for a client manufactured. they turned out great. was a process i enjoyed very much: selecting sizes, finishes, developing shop drawings. client is very pleased with the units too! better images to come at some future point on my other website (www.studiobrovhn.com)

textile design 6

what began as an interest in a print with 'y' in it, turned into a brick pattern. ironically, i had been intrigued with brick patterns for a few weeks leading up to this . . . maybe it was somewhere in my subconscious.

my first 2 metre cloth! over 700 block print repeats, + dyeing. incredible amount of work, but am happy with the results. also very satisfied with an experimental process i came up with during production; relates to the distressed, uneven block printing shown on the purple fabric above.
hmm, what to do with fabric . . . cushions? . . .

new york: part 2

Inspiration for prints . . .

new york: part 1

Visited lovely New York from July 11-16. In my attempt to avoid pictures of 'tourist' places, I have focused on details or places I found noteworthy.
